A Baytowne Wharf Bash - Sandestin, Florida

The Village of Baytowne Wharf has a lot of fun options for people of all ages. There are a variety of activities and some great places to grab a bite to eat.  Whether you are looking for some space to let the kids run wild or an interesting atmosphere to grab a few drinks with friends, Baytowne Wharf has something to offer any traveler.

For a day with the kids, there are some interesting options for a little fun.  A ropes course towers in between a few unique little shops, providing an opportunity for the miniature thrill seeker to get his or her fix and expend a little bit of that seemingly limitless energy.

If the ropes aren't enough of a rush, there is a zip line conveniently located nearby.  It glides right over a small pond that winds through the village.  Make sure shoes are securely fastened!

After all the excitement, cool down a little bit with a nice relaxing game of checkers... GIANT CHECKERS! Everything is bigger in Tex... I mean, Florida.

Expending all kinds of energy will work up an appetite in a hurry.  Luckily, Baytowne is host to a variety of dining selections.  Another Broken Egg Cafe is a cheerful little cafe that serves breakfast and lunch selections all day.  Marlin Grill boasts fresh seafood and savory steaks in a casual but upscale setting.  Whatever the craving may be, there is a spot with a menu to satisfy. On our trip to Baytowne, we stopped at the Acme Oyster House for an ice cold batch of... well, what else? Oysters!
For an interesting conversation, make sure to grab a spot close to Steve, the fine gentleman in the image above.  Steve has survived TWO trips over Niagara Falls in a barrel.  No one can tell the story like he can, and it is surely an interesting one.  The laid back atmosphere, a great batch of oysters, and tales of epic proportions make the Acme Oyster House a Baytowne favorite.

For a night out with friends, there are some great bars with live music and a bustling atmosphere. All are within walking distance of each other,  so finding the right spot is only a few steps away.
So if the kids are getting tired of the beach and a change of pace is in order, or a night on the town with friends is a must, consider checking out The Village of Baytowne Wharf.  There is certainly more than enough to do for a day full of fun everyone will enjoy!
